Meet The Team
|
Adam joined the Workshop on 1st May 1998. Back then there were just 5 Drama Workshops, for ages 9 to 18…
Adam got busy and today there are over 10 Workshops for those aged 5 to 26 meeting every week with over 200 members - plus a Production Skills Workshop for those wanting to learn how to work behind the scenes.
As well as being in charge of the entire ITV WEST Television Workshop, Adam regularly teaches Drama sessions and Directs and Produces film, TV, theatre, and radio projects.
As well as Producing all the Workshop stage and film productions, Adam has directed ITV shows from TERRY PRATCHETT'S MORT (a documentary following the Workshop's stage production and meeting with the world famous Discworld author) to FROM HERE TO CAPE FEAR (a documentary following the Workshop's tour to the USA) as well as episodes of ITV Children's show LOOK and Workshop Film Showcase: MINI MOVIE MARVELS.
Adam has directed a large number of live Workshop productions. These include the gigantic community millennium musical, REMOTE CONTROL (performed in Bristol Cathedral); the gory horror, VAMPIROLOGY (so successful it saw two productions); SURREALISSIMO!, the story of the surreal trial of Salvador Dali; THE NOSE (which toured the Czech Republic) and UNDER MILK WOOD (which toured to the USA).
Adam has also written a wide range of Workshop shows, from original Pantomime's (ROBIN THE HOOD and DICK WHITTINGTON & BOB THE CAT!) to adapting screenplays for the stage (VAMPIROLOGY and SURREALISSIMO!) His other writing credits include a string of hit Murder Mystery scripts and the original adult comedy, SEX: A RELATIONSHIP IN 69 SCENES - which was a big hit in Bristol and at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Before arriving at ITV WEST, Adam worked in professional theatres throughout the UK. He was Youth and Community Theatre Director for Cardiff's Sherman Theatre and Chester Gateway Theatre and has written, produced and directed a wide range of productions.
As an actor, Adam has appeared in a variety of ITV shows, including SORTED, THE GET RICH PROJECT and BLISSED OUT, as well as writing and narrating the documentary, IT'S NOT THE END OF THE WORLD. Adam's film acting credits include an appearance opposite Peter O'Toole in WINGS OF FAME and his stage work includes playing the lead in his self-scripted comedy, SEX: A RELATIONSHIP IN 69 SCENES for its premiere and revival in Bristol and tour to London.
Born in London, the son of former DAILY MIRROR sports photographer Monte Fresco MBE, Adam now lives in Bristol with his dogs, Maggie and Poppy, his long-suffering partner and (pictured below shortly after his arrival on the planet in June 2005) Ash.
In his spare time, Adam performs stand-up comedy, writes, draws cartoons, offends badgers and pursues his long-time hobby of cat-juggling.
Adam wishes to be cremated… but only when he's dead.
