CO-SCREENWRITER OF THE OSCAR, EMMY & BAFTA WINNING WALLACE & GROMIT FILMS: THE WRONG TROUSERS; A CLOSE SHAVE and CURSE OF THE WERE-RABBIT
& WRITER ON THE BBC SC-FI CLASSIC: DR WHO
 BOB BAKER was our guest speaker in the Workshop (March 2006) along with the BAFTA he won for co-writing the full-length animated feature film, WALLACE & GROMIT: CURSE OF THE WERE-RABBIT.
We are delighted to announce that BOB BAKER, Writer, Script Editor and Producer for film, television and theatre, famed for his work on cult BBC Sci-Fi series, DR WHO, and co-writer of the hugely popular multi-OSCAR, EMMY and BAFTA winning WALLACE & GROMIT films, will be our guest tutor for the new ITV WEST WRITERS WORKSHOP.
With Nick Park, Bob co-wrote the OSCAR, EMMY and BAFTA Award-winning Wallace & Gromit films: THE WRONG TROUSERS (1993); A CLOSE SHAVE (1995) and CURSE OF THE WERE-RABBIT (2005) - picking up a BAFTA and a British Animation Award for best screenplay along the way!
It was Bob who wrote A GRAND NIGHT OUT, the Wallace & Gromit stage play, which toured the UK in 1987, running for the Christmas season at London's Peacock Theatre. Bob also adapted Richard Adams' bestseller, WATERSHIP DOWN as a stage musical, which premiered in Bristol in December 1999. For the Millennium, Bob was co-creator of the spectacular live Millennium Dome show, OVO, in partnership with music legend, Peter Gabriel.
Bob has also worked in the U.S.A. for Universal Pictures on the full length animated feature film, NOVA'S ARK and was co-producer of NEXUS, a Sci-Fi movie starring Oliver Tobias, as well as CTHULHU MANSION, a horror film starring Frank Finlay. Bob has countless TV credits to his name, perhaps most famously as writer in the late 1970's for nine episodes of BBC Sci-Fi series DR WHO, for which Bob co-created robot-dog, K9. It was Bob who devised and wrote INTO THE LABYRINTH, the popular children's series starring Ron Moody. In the 1980's Bob was Script Editor and Writer of the BBC's hugely popular detective series, SHOESTRING, starring Trevor Eve, and he still found time to write three episodes of the popular detective series, BERGERAC, starring John Nettles,
Bob has also co-written the Sci-Fi film, PUGILISTICA, and the new K9 (the robot dog Bob created for DR WHO) live-action TV series which has been optioned and is currently awaiting production.
